Gun Control That Can Work

Matthew 15:19a: For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, . . .

The only way to prevent murders is to change the hearts of men and the only one that can do that is God. When our loving and powerful God changes a heart and takes control of it, that person will not use guns or any other weapons for evil purposes. The way God can change the hearts of more citizens is to restore God, the Bible and prayer to our families, churches, educational institutions, the media, law-makers, government leaders, courts and unelected officials.

James 1:21: Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

The Bible can become an influential part of men and save their souls. Save their souls from what? From Hell and from lives of sin, including murder. The Bible teaches right from wrong. Prayer gets God involved in restraining evil. The Bible and God can and will turn some murderers into peacemakers and make some violent individuals gentle.

Individuals kill others with guns, knives, baseball bats, fists and all sorts of other weapons. Taking away ALL weapons from the violent and from murderers would seem to solve the murder and violence problems. But you cannot take away all weapons unless you replace evil hearts. Evil hearts will find weapons to use to commit murder. If you can*t change the hearts of men you will have to do all sorts of impossible things to restrain them. You will have to take away guns, knives, baseball bats and amputate fists.

No one can know with certainty which hearts are going to demonstrate how evil they are by committing murder anyway. Prayer can get God involved in restraining those with evil hearts. When God, the Bible and prayer are great forces in a society, there is less violence and murder.

Strangely, the individuals that want to remove God, the Bible and prayer rom our world are the same ones who want to take guns away from law-abiding citizens. They want to remove the only things that deter violence and murder. The results of removing prayer and the Bible from society are obvious. Individuals under the control of God do not need gun control and those that rebel against Him rebel against all laws. They will not abide by God*s laws OR gun control laws.

1 Timothy 1:9: Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

Acts 15:8-9: And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them (the Gentiles) witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; (the Jews) 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

When men receive Jesus into their hearts, ask Him to live in their hearts, and take control of their hearts, He will purify them and keep them from murder.

Ephesians 3:17a: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; . . .
